There's been a lot to do recently, some of which involves going into town. Due to a move in the family, Saturday saw us dining in Ikea, which was more of a treat than expected. You know the food, unless you have a private income and buy your furniture in Heal's.A lovely day today, so we wandered afterwards to the famous surfer wave by the English Garden with its endless stream of hopefuls. Then we had our afternoon tea in the Golden Bar café of the Haus der Kunst which is quite unlike its name - nothing special, a balcony without sunshine.
There was plenty of sunshine back in the prairie on our lovely terrace, all golden-green countryside. I had made a delicious strawberry cake on a base of my favourite puff pastry (equal parts quark, plain flour and unsalted butter) which I blind-baked and let cool. Then I used a palette knife to spread a mixture of dark chocolate melted with a dash of single cream on the base and covered it with halved strawberries. How do I love them, let me count the ways... Just one of the countless ways to enjoy the fruit of the season.
