Gel in the sun - on the only sunny day there was
This year is about to end, with me on the sofa with a blanket and panadols. Good riddance, I say.Yes, readers, I got ill again, along with about one million Brits who were consorting with a variety of viruses. I am too weak to protest: at least I made it back from Havant to "my own" little flat in London, dreaming of B.`s New Year`s gourmet dinner I am missing on the Isle of Wight. No bubbly for me then, but I will make up for it in 2013. At least I am having plenty of time to catch up with UK TV - mostly crap but I am not proud - and the papers. The weather is a hot topic but: mustn`t grumble. I did manage to enjoy a few lovely dinners with friends who really aren`t grumbling, they are all off to Morocco and Zanzibar and Barbados, and that`s just the less affluent ones, bless them. I did manage a visit to the newly opened William Morris Museum, a quick dash down to Crouch End, a wander over the Embankment footbridge, and a bracing walk in Havant, Hants. on the only day when it stopped raining. So hey, I tell myself, its not all gloom and doom. Hey.
