Die Woche danach - The week that followed

Was so war, seit ich wieder zuhause bin. Oder dahoam. Zuerst wunderbar. Im See.

Dann: neues Handy. Neue SIMkarte. Aktivieren. Wir kennen Sie nicht. Anrufen. Hab kein Netz. Bin Aldikundin. Habe altes Telefon, nix tippen. Habe kein Handy. Undso weiter, wer kennt es nicht. Internetvergiftung. Warum spricht keiner mit mir?

Dann 'Telebanking": Versuch Internetbanking. Einloggen. Wir kennen Ihren Usernamen nicht. Passwort passt auch nicht. Bankinfo abrufen. 20 Minuten Wartezeit. Wollen Sie warten?

Undsoweiter. Servus, Idylle.

How was it, being home again? Started promising with a swim or two. Ended with Internet poisoning. No more people to talk to about my new SIMcard that won't let me in. Waiting time on the phone 20 minutes - wanna wait? No thanks. F***Off

New phone, no connection. And so on. Who hasn't been there....

Dann, Flohmarktrausch mit Luisa:  3€ RayBan Sonnenbrille etc. Neider sagen, höhö Thailand fake.
Ist mir egal. Hauptsache Name steht drauf. Ohrringe. Tücher. Bücher. Danach Weißwurstfrühstück, ohne Weißbier. Wir sind ja keine Bauarbeiter. Oder Exilitaliener.
Next, a fleamarket extravaganza with my sister: among many other finds, a €3 sunglasses bargain. There's some that would say "fake from Thailand". See, it's a RayBan, for all I care. And then some: books, sarongs, earrings.
Afterwards, classic Bavarian breakfast.

 ***

Sunday I made the mistake to travel to Munich despite incipient flu symptoms. Paired with a bit of a sunstroke (only idiots and... go walkies in the midday sun with no hat) it turned into a stonking flu.

Now I am reduced to a spot of chillaxing on the balcony

Rose from my sickbed to rescue a punnet of peaches that threatened to go from rock hard to rotten in two days. Didn't have the energy for fancy labelling. haha.

Recipe of the week today is something that tastes better than it looks in this picture: a kind of Turkish  Pizza on my trusty home-made puff pastry that I keep in the freezer ready for a meal, even when I am not well, like this blasted week.

To remind you: mix three parts flour, butter and quark (fromage frais will do) - don't overknead, leave some bits of butter in there. For one quiche I use about 100-150g.  Make double that if you want to freeze some.

I bake the base separately, covered with baking beans (on baking paper! you don't want them fusing with the dough!) until lightly browned.

For the filling I fried a chopped onion with 200g good organic mince, a carott and season with sumac or Ras-el-Hanout, salt, a pinch of chili or pul biber. Simmer for a while with a lid on. Spread it on the base and return to the oven for about 10 minutes. Normally I would crumble some feta over it, didn't have any and made do with a bit of herby cream cheese. Enjoy with a green salad.

P.S. Wer findet das versteckte Zitat unseres grünen Wirtschaftsministers? #lichtblickderwoche

Comments
