...und das auch nicht, obwohl es mich juckte....and I resisted buying this one (it says: for my dear little man)
Diese Gemüseplatte von Arzberg kaufte ich für drei Euro - I did buy this plate (for my vegetables)
und diese schönen alten Dinge - ein Leinentischtuch mit Adelsmonogramm - wer weiß ob ich das nicht mal brauchen kann? A monogrammed linen tablecloth, a flowery jug (everybody needs one) and an English Burleigh Ware terrine, probably really valuable!!
This day started well - you guessed it: sunny. Flea market alert in a posh old people's home! I cycled to the other side of town at 8.30 am, fond memories of going to work. A whole lot of old dears had emptied out their attics. We didn't stop until we had spent all our money. With the last two euros, we bought a couple of sausages. A sweet old lady offered to buy us the potato salad, for which we had not one cent left over. We thanked her, and said no, thanks. At home, I made an omelette with fresh borlotti beans: cooked for about 20 minutes until they still have some bite, then dressed with feta, spring onions, olive oil and lemon juice. At least as good as potato salad.
